Paul,

I have used several highly regarded isolation devices. Vibraplane, Black Diamond Racing, Walker Cones, Aurios and Townsend Seismic Sinks to name a few. In my system the Tri-Orb Lite reference-grade isolation devices provided, hands-down, the ultimate in vibration control. Paul, the built quality of your Tri-Orbs are second to none, your attention to detail is amazing. Your Tri-Orbs are easy to use, they are self-leveling so there is no need of shims. You do not need an air pump or compressor because there are no air bladders. With cones, you have to enlist the help of another person to lift the component while you place the cone and puck into place. In my opinion Tri-Orbs are the best kept secret in high-end audio, and that's a shame.

Best regards

Brad Fisher, Olympia, WA

I was so unprepared for what I was about to hear. My system took on a whole new vitality. Dynamics flew out of my speakers like rockets on the fourth of July. Male and female voices were so “there” and rich with a presence that made me shake my head in disbelief. I’ve tried Symposium, Aurios, Black Diamond, Vibraplane and Walker Audio's resonance cones and discs. BTW, this new and unknown product on the market is Van Slyke Engineering’s almighty Tri-Orbs.

Hello Paul,

Thank You! For the first time in decades I am able to "hear" the music. Over the last 25 years, or more, I have tried several different methods to isolate my turntable from outside vibrations and your Tri-Orb Lite reference-grade Isolation Platforms are the first products to really be successful. I have never written to a manufacturer or supplier before but the pure musical enjoyment that I have derived from your product has compelled me to write.

Due to other financial priorities (i.e. mortgage, college for the kids), all of my stereo equipment is 20 plus years old and would not be considered "high end" by today's standards. However, it provides me with musical enjoyment. The suspension, if it can be called that, on my direct drive turntable sucks. I have used Spikes, Cones, and Sorbothane. Wall mounted my turntable and still nothing I could do or buy would isolate it. I had given up and just learned to live with it until I saw your ad in The Absolute Sound. Your detailed descriptions, design philosophy and user comments on your web site convinced me to give your product a try.

WOW!!! First, the craftsmanship and quality of your Tri-Orbs is evident to any one who handles and looks at them. Second, the ease of set-up is beyond compare. Anyone who has used cones or spikes will agree. Third, the self-leveling design feature is truly brilliant and compensates for the settling of my 50 plus year old home where the wood floors are not exactly level. Fourth, and most importantly, the veils that had been covering the music had been lifted away and I could hear the clarity, depth and soundstage of the recordings. Even my wife agreed!

With my equipment set up in an oak cabinet we would have to "tip toe" whenever I played a record and forget about turning the volume up. The vibrations and feedback would just be horrendous; so much so that I had pretty much stopped playing my records. Now, with the Tri-Orbs in place we can walk normally again and enjoy the music. The Tri-Orbs pass the STOMP test, the RAP and KNOCK test, and the LOUD MUSIC test.

For those of us who still love vinyl, a set of Tri-Orbs, in my opinion, is the best upgrade you can do for your music system. They effectively isolate the turntable from outside vibrations and let your system play music. The Tri-Orbs have become the "Strongest Link" in my stereo system so that now I can decide what needs to be my next upgrade.

Finally, it is a pleasure to be able to call and speak directly with the owner, designer, and laborer that creates these fine instruments.

Sincerely,

David R. Downey, Doylestown, PA

Paul,

Thank you for your advice and prompt shipping on the above. The X-Rods immediately went into place and are working fabulously well. They appear to be supporting the 75lb sandbox perfectly. I gave it the "jump" test with zero audible feedback. I also banged directly on the support legs of the Lead Balloon stand, again with nary a hint of any response through the system (as a record played)! No more tiptoeing thru the tulips.

The Orbital is also working well with my old Ariston table. Much better pace/timing in the music versus the standard screw down clamp. I'd swear the noise floor is lower as well. I need to do some more listening with a variety of vinyl to sort it all out. The true test will be using it on my new Aries when it arrives next week.

Your products are of exceptional quality, both in design and execution.

Consider me a very satisfied customer!

Best regards,

Scott Peterson, Excelsior, MN

What Music Direct had to say about ORBITALS:

You have never seen or heard anything like this before! The new Orbital Record Stabilizer is the first new approach to record clamping to come along in ages! This ultra-high precision device will stabilize your records on the platter as well as dampen vibration inherent in even the most sophisticated turntable designs. This exclusive centrifugal vibration damping system will work with virtually any table available. What are the sonic results of stabilizing the record, damping off vibration and reducing resonance? Better pace, rhythm, more controlled bass response and a lower noise floor, which translates into much better detail retrieval. - Jim Davis, MD (www.amusicdirect.com)

Paul,

As an engineer I must admit that the quality of your product is exceptional. In my opinion it is the most professionally made piece of equipment I have obtained or used, and is beyond much of the equipment used on modern helicopters. I am very happy indeed and look forward to using more of your designs. It is also refreshing to finally obtain a product that actually matches the associated advertising hype!!

Many Thanks

Peter Gregory, Bristow Helicopters, Karratha Airport, Australia

Paul,

Qualtiy is often hard to describe, but is easily identified when seen and *felt*.

Thanks

Hi Paul,

I'm a degreed Mechanical Engineer and a real perfectionist when it comes to equipment, always tending to look first for the flaws. There was absolutely nothing to criticize on your equipment; it was perfect right out of the box!!! In an era when "real" pride in workmanship has pretty much gone by the wayside in favor of mass production and higher profits, it is truly wonderful to find a company like Van Slyke Engineering holding the line against mediocrity and offering the community the finest equipment in the best traditions of old-world craftsmanship. My hat is off to you Paul; your work is "collector-class" material.

Best Regards,

Dave Jurasevich, Alhambra, CA

Hi Paul,

All seem in fine condition. Won't bore you with why the long delay getting here. So far just this observation to make. Your product is very, very impressive. Better than I had anticipated and I had anticipated a lot.

Thank you.

Warm regards to you and yours for 2000.

John Upton, Australia

Paul,

Everyone of my friends is very impressed by your engineering.

Thanks for your great help.

U. Wiggli, Switzerland

Dear Mr. Van Slyke,

My apologies for not being able to contact you till now, to tell you that your work are probably the two finest pieces of work of any kind I have in my possession. Thank you for working with me to deliver this fine product. I actually had my first chance to use it on Sunday, 20 February, for the first time. It is a beautiful instrument.

Thanks again.

Mike Madsen, Altadena, CA

Paul:

As always the equipment is beautiful!!! It is obvious when I see the workmanship that I am dealing with someone who takes great pride in their work! I can hardly wait to try this out.

Thanks again...best regards,

Warren Stallings,  Pittsburgh, CA

Dear Paul,

I just wanted you to know that I am extremely pleased with the service. I also wanted to thank you for not charging my card the full amount of $----.00... I fully expected you to and that would have been just fine. It just goes to show that you are not only a true professional but a real gentlemen as well.

Respectfully,

Doug LePage, Miami, FL

Paul,

It's become a highly talked about system by all who are in my club. Most of them were only vaguely aware of the name, "Paul Van Slyke" but now they are hands-on familiar with the product that's behind the name. I wish I could convey to you all the comments.

Thanks for such a great, beautifully designed product Paul...

Russ Shettle, Bethesda, MD

I had no idea of the quality from the pictures. It’s built like a tank!

Now where have I heard that before? - PVS

The Van Slyke is about the only "quality" game in town. I love it!

Hello Paul,

I for one have always steered people to your products. I know Quality when I see it. Paul, yours is THE BEST product out there and that is thirty years in the hobby speaking.

Sincerely,

Danny E. Darlington

I have spent the last hour examining it and the accessories, and wanted to tell you as quickly as possible that it is a work of art and I can't wait to get home and hook it up. Craftspeople like you are a clear indication that quality and pride of workmanship are still alive and well in America. Thanks for the speedy service and I'll e-mail some pictures soon.

Don Stanford, West Greenwich, RI

Paul,

I'm absolutely amazed. It's better than I ever expected or hoped for. In a world of homogenized junk, you've created a first class, distinctive instrument at a not un-reasonable cost. Your skill and craftsmanship are evident and certainly appreciated. Thank you Paul.

Regards,

Chris Brown, Charlotte, NC

Hi Paul,

The package arrived today. WOW!!! You really turn out nice work. I showed it to our Technology and Applied Studies people who run our CNC lathe. They were very impressed. Quality always demands (and gets) attention.

Cheers,

Steve Ryde, Sydney, Australia

Paul,

Thank you again for treating your customers the way you would like to be treated. That really is refreshing! And it leads to better products!

With Highest Regards,

David Lakey
